Carry On.

The term "Carry On" has had a great impact in my life.

First, it was my high school motto and fight song.

This isn't the greatest video and sound quality, but every time I sang this song after a football game, or at an assembly, my eyes would tear up and I'd remember to carry on. Here are the lyrics to the song.

"Carry on, Mesa High.
Carry on, ye sons and daughters true.
Let this anthem reach the sky
Build ye glorious vision new,
We'll fight forever for the right,
Carry on with hearts aflame.
Tradition great and mighty deeds
Add honor to thy name.
Carry on, carry on."
Seriously, the tears are in my eyes right now, with the gentle reminder that Carry On gives me.

The second Carry On that I love is the fun. song.
"Cause we are
We are shining stars
We are invincible
We are who we are
On our darkest day
When we're miles away
So we'll come
We will find our way home
If you're lost and alone, or sinking like a stone, carry on.
May your past be the sound of your feet upon the ground, carry on."

This Carry On means so much to me because I like to linger on my past, the mistakes I made, or the friends I used to have, and more than always it makes me feel alone.  This song gives me a reminder that the past is past, and I need to just carry on into the future because life is going to keep going, whether you like it or not.

The third Carry On, which is actually why I decided to post this post, is Hymn. 255, Carry On.
1. Firm as the mountains around us,
Stalwart and brave we stand
On the rock our fathers planted
For us in this goodly land—
The rock of honor and virtue,
Of faith in the living God.
They raised his banner triumphant—
Over the desert sod.

2. We’ll build on the rock they planted
A palace to the King.
Into its shining corridors,
Our songs of praise we’ll bring,
For the heritage they left us,
Not of gold or of worldly wealth,
But a blessing everlasting
Of love and joy and health.

[Chorus]
And we hear the desert singing:
Carry on, carry on, carry on!
Hills and vales and mountains ringing:
Carry on, carry on, carry on!
Holding aloft our colors,
We march in the glorious dawn.
O youth of the noble birthright,
Carry on, carry on, carry on!

This Carry On is my favorite, because it reminds me that I am of noble birthright and that I have a Heavenly Father that wants me to succeed in all that I do, in order to get the blessings that are waiting for me, if I just carry on.
